Creekside Retreats

What does hope mean to you?
Emily Dickinson says “Hope” is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul-And sings the tune without the words – And never stops – at all.”
Aristotle defines hope as a “waking dream”—a form of active imagination that allows us to live “inside” a possibility before it is realized.
Let’s explore ideas about Hope at our Summer Retreat.
We’ll open our hearts in Yoga. Explore our imaginations in Yoga Nidra. Let hope trigger our creativity in an Art Workshop. We’ll examine the reflections of hope in a Walking Meditation (weather permitting). Alternatively, we’ll exchange ideas in a Circle of Exploration (or just listen and learn). Finally, a vibrational Sound Bath will stir your inner radiance.

Yoga Nidra, called “dynamic sleep” is a deep meditation that brings you somewhere between a sleep and an awake state, where you explore the Five Koshas (sheaths or layers): Annamaya Kosha…the body; Pranamaya Kosha…energy; Vjanamaya Kosha…the intellect; and finally, Anandomaya Kosha…bliss.
Yoga Nidra has been scientifically proven to reduce stress, release tension and heal the body, so much so that it is effectively used to treat stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD and addictive behavior.
