CONGREGATION'S
COVENANT
FOR EXCELLENCE IN RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
We, the members of the BuxMont Unitarian Universalist
Fellowship, have identified the following as our shared vision for our
(Lifespan) Religious Education Program:
to build a strong and varied Lifespan Religious Education Program with
particular emphasis on youth programming
to integrate the Religious Education program with the rest of Fellowship
life and the community at large
to develop a strong Unitarian Universalist identity
We covenant to support the (Lifespan) Religious Education
Program of this congregation by:
strengthening and supporting professional and volunteer efforts
providing activities outside the Fellowship (in the community)
providing age appropriate programs for all ages
increasing the visibility and relevance of the Religious Education
program to Fellowship life
enhancing opportunities for congregational involvement in the Religious
Education program
enhancing opportunities for Religious Education involvement in
congregation life
We covenant to support Robin Pugh in her position as Director
of Religious Education by:
continuing our participation in the LREDA grant program
being receptive to requests for help
being pro-active in providing ideas and offering help
offering support and training for teachers
accommodating different learning styles

DIRECTOR'S COVENANT FOR EXCELLENCE
As Director
of Religious Education for BuxMont Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, I, Robin
Pugh, covenant to support the Religious Education Program of this congregation
by:

Sharing the
Congregation’s vision for its RE Program
·
Representing
and advocating for the RE program to the Fellowship at large with knowledge and
enthusiasm
·
Communicating
regularly with the RE Board for coordination and implementation of the RE
program as well as mutual support
·
Training,
supporting and nurturing RE teachers
·
Motivating,
organizing and nurturing RE volunteers
·
Welcoming
new families to RE
·
Being a
voice for the children of this Fellowship in committee meetings
·
Finding new
ways for children to participate in Sunday services and Fellowship activities
·
Being
available as a resource for parents
·
Administering
the RE program
·
Providing
children the opportunity to experience worship, both intergenerationally and
among themselves
·
Attending
district and area RE conferences and activities for professional development
·
Keeping
abreast of developments in RE via the Internet, UU e-mail lists and UU
publications
I covenant
to support the work of the minister, Dan Schatz, and the administrator, Karen
Gallagher by:
·
Keeping
communication open between the parties and promoting the free flow of ideas
·
Implementing
suggestions from the Minister and the Administrator
·
Providing
information and support to those who need it in a timely fashion
