The service will highlight the work of Oxfam, an international organization that works in more than 90 countries to help those who live in poverty and hunger in a world as rich as ours. Man-made crises and severe drought have pushed countless families to the brink of starvation. We support this organization’s mission to save lives and work to end poverty while we educate ourselves on the causes and solutions.
In the past we have held Oxfam Hunger Banquets on the Thursday night before Thanksgiving but a Sunday service will bring the message to a much larger audience at a much more convenient time for families. The food served will be much different than our usual fare after the service, and we encourage adults to fast before the service to understand how hunger feels. All who attend will have an unforgettable experience and learn about the root causes of poverty and hunger.
The service begins at 10:15 a.m.
