BuxMont Unitarian Universalist Fellowship

Decorating

Cynthia sponsored sanctuary pillar flowers for Dave’s birthday on February 28, 2016.  Thank you!

Flower arranging at BuxMont.

BuxMont’s Floral Decorators—some with professional experience, some newbies—create two flower arrangements each week for Sunday services in the sanctuary.  We work with both fresh and artificial materials gathered from the Fellowship’s extensive grounds, roadsides, our own gardens, from our attic storage, and through purchases at discount produce outlets.

We also channel our enthusiasm for beauty into special larger-scale decorating projects for holidays like Passover, Easter, Christmas, ingathering services, Flower Communion (celebrating diversity and community), and some memorial services, the annual BuxMont Auction, and Fellowship parties.

We see our mission as lifting up the present moment and embodying it in the lovely but evanescent media of flowers, leaves, and branches.  We celebrate the circle of the seasons even as each special day vanishes with its fading blossoms.
