11: “The Purpose of a Pulpit” Speaker:
Rev. Daniel S. Schatz We
live in an era of increasing public access to preaching – yet it is also an
era in which complicated ideas are reduced to brief sound-bytes.
In this service we will explore one of the purposes of religion, and
discover the prophetic voice at the root of Mother’s Day.
New members will be welcomed in a special ceremony during this service. May
18 “Songs of Celebration”
Presenters:
The BuxMont Choirs The ‘sermon’ for this service will be sung by our
BuxMont Choir – a lovely Unitarian Universalist cantata by Betsy Jo
Angebranndt in five movements. Through
choral and congregational music we will explore what it means to be Unitarian
Universalists worshiping in sacred community and expressing our values of peace,
justice, nature, spirituality and reason. May
25: “All
Souls” Speaker:
Rev. Daniel S. Schatz
SMALL GROUP
MINISTRY Small Group Ministries are a way to connect with other BuxMont folks in a small setting. Groups of no more than 12 people meet at least once a month, often in members’ homes, to talk about spiritual questions and share in each other’s lives. If you are interested in joining a Small Group Ministry, talk to Rev. Dan Schatz or pick up a signup form at the Small Group Ministry bulletin board in the social hall. Newcomers are always welcome. |
