Hungry for Change helps participants commit to lasting change by developing and sharing personal Action Plans with each session As this is a discussion course, participants will need to purchase the discussion guide for $22 from Jeanne Kane and read the relevant material prior to each session. More information about Hungry for Change and the sign-up sheet are located on the Peace and Justice bulletin board in the Social Hall. BMUUF members, friends, and any others interested in the discussions are invited to attend! Participation in all six sessions is encouraged, but not required. April Fool’s Day Social Media Workshop Do you often feel like it is April Fool’s Day when you try to understand social media? How do I set my page, whom do I let in, how do I not get left out? What is happening at BuxMont? The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) and the Joseph Priestly District (JPD) staff will tell you that if we are going to grow and be an inclusive community, we must become a part of the social media movement. Bux- Mont is, but only for those who understand and feel comfortable with it. If you would like to understand and learn more about Facebook , write April 1st into your calendar, bring a brown bag lunch and a laptop, if you have one, and join us. Alisa Brownlee, often frustrated by communication at BuxMont, will lead us in a two hour workshop after the 11:15 service on April 1st. Save the date-Introduction to Conversation Spanish Are you going to Justice General Assembly in Phoenix, June 2012? Do you wish you knew enough Spanish that you could greet and have a social conversation with your neighbors, co-workers or service persons? Would you like to thank them, say they have done a good job or ask how the family is doing? Connecting with others that are different from you in culture and language by at least attempting to speak their language is a way of showing your belief in the inherent worth and dignity of all. The Immigration as a Moral Issue (CSAI) Task Force will be offering a six session Introductory Conversation Spanish class starting April 29th through June 3rd after the 11:15 service. Our own, Nancy Haggard has graciously offered to be our teacher. Questions? Please contact Yvonne Marlier. |
