Vice-President of Finance Job Description 

The Vice-President of Finance serves for a term of two years and is generally responsible for the financial matter of the Fellowship.  The VP of Finance oversees the activities of the Treasurer, the Finance Committee, the Endowment Committee (Heritage Society), the Fundraising Committee and the Rental Committee.  The VP of Finance is also responsible for investment of funds and assists with all financing programs. 

The VP of Finance will:

bulletLead monthly Finance Committee meetings.
bulletAttend monthly Board Meetings as a voting member and bring Finance issues/opportunities to the Board’s attention.
bulletRead monthly treasurer reports and discuss financial impact of income statement and balance sheet items.
bulletWrite a monthly/quarterly article for the Liberal voice.
bulletWork with the Treasurer to create budget.
bulletWork with the Pledge Drive Chair to understand status of pledge drive to create budget and identify risks and opportunities.
bulletWork with Council and Council Chair to explain budget process once pledge drive results are known.

The VP of Finance must have a financial understanding of income statements and balance sheets.  A non-profit background in fundraising would be helpful.  S/he must have excellent communication skills.
