Program Committee Chair Job Description 

The Program Committee Chair:

bulletReviews proposed programs and allocates dates while maintaining an up-to-date calendar of upcoming services
bulletIdentifies Program Coordinators and Lay Leaders for services that are not being led by the minister.
bulletActs as a liaison with Program Coordinators and Lay Leaders to ensure they know what their responsibilities are and to monitor that they are being carried out.
bulletConducts outreach for potential lay leaders, often by involving senior members of BuxMont.
bulletConducts outreach for potential guest speakers while staying within the budget for speaker fees
bulletResponds to communications regarding upcoming open dates and/or questions about whether the committee might be interested in a certain outside speaker
bulletProvides timely information about upcoming services to the editor of the Liberal Voice
bulletChairs a committee monthly one to two hour committee meeting
bulletWorks to create a balanced and varied program
bulletPrepare a written annual report for the Board of Trustees.
bulletPrepare a written annual budget.
bulletAttend Program Fellowship Council meetings or a designated representative.
 

Skills: Outgoing personality, sense of humor, organizational skills, and vision for a balanced program grounded in UU Principles and attempting to meet the spiritual needs of the Congregation.  

The time commitment is, at a minimum, two hours a month.  More time may be spent in coordinating, answering questions, and communicating service descriptions to the editor of the “Liberal Voice”.
