President-Elect of the
Board of Trustees Job Description
The President-Elect is a voting member of
the Board of Trustees and is Board Liaison to Fellowship Council. The
President-Elect is proposed by the Nominating Committee and elected by the
Congregation. The term begins July 1st and ends July 30th.
The second year of service consists of a one year term as President of the
Board of Trustees, if approved by the Congregation.
The President-Elect will:
 | Participate in monthly Board meetings.
 | Act according to the by-laws with
policies and procedures which are in the best interest of the
congregation as a whole, both spiritually and fiscally.
 | Communicate openly with the Minister,
Staff, Board of Trustees, Fellowship Council, members and active
friends.
 | Moderate bimonthly meetings of the
Program Fellowship Council, two of which must include Administrative
Fellowship Council. The purpose of these two meetings is to
request Committee budgets and coordinate the yearly Fellowship calendar,
in accordance with the by-laws.
 | Request more meetings, as necessary, to
accomplish collaborative goals.
 | Attend leadership training and
workshops offered by the JPD and UUA.
 | Attend the JPD Spring Conference and
General Assembly, if possible.
 | Maintain records and minutes of
activities throughout the year so as to provide continuity for the
incoming President-Elect. |

Skills needed: a commitment to Unitarian
Universalist principles, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to think
systemically and a desire for spiritual growth within the community.
