Peace and Justice Committee Chair Job Description 

The Peace and Justice Committee serves as the social conscience of the Fellowship. It is a composite of the Diversity Task Force, the Peace Initiative, and Social Action. Its annual projects include but are not limited to the Apartment Partners Project, Journey Toward Wholeness, OxFam Hunger Banquet, and the Split Plate Project, as well as presenting public forums and Sunday services on issues of peace and justice. The Chair serves a term of three years. The committee currently meets on the first Monday of each month at 7:30 following a one hour peace vigil. 

The Peace and Justice Chair will:

bulletDevelop agendas and lead meetings.
bulletReceive information from a myriad of other peace and justice groups and share with committee members via e-mail.
bulletInform the Fellowship of committee activities and opportunities for participation with local and national peace and justice events through the Liberal Voice, bulletin boards and e-mail.
bulletOrganize Sunday services and forums.
bulletAttend Program Fellowship Council meetings or send a designated representative.
bulletAssure that someone writes a monthly article for the Liberal Voice on a pertinent topic.
bulletPrepare and submit a written budget request and annual report as requested.
bulletMaintain a binder containing minutes and activity summary for future volunteers.
