Librarian Job Description 

The librarian maintains a lending library for the use of BuxMont members and friends. 

The librarian will: 

bulletOrder materials that have been suggested by BuxMont patrons or which the librarian deems worthwhile for the collection.
bulletSet up and maintain the library shelves in the Fireside Room.
bulletProcess and prepares for circulation books and other materials such as video tapes, DVDs, or books on tape.  Specifically this includes stamping with the BuxMont stamp in title page, on page 25, and card pocket; gluing on the card pocket; and typing the circulation card and spine label.  Also, s/he will obtain and enter bibliographic data into the online public access catalog on the computer and catalogue using the Dewey Decimal System.
bulletOrder processing materials.
bulletContact library users when books have not been returned within a reasonable amount of time (six months).
bulletWeed the collection periodically to remove books no longer considered useful to the collection.
bulletCreate and periodically revisit policy and procedures for the library.
bulletPrepare a written annual budget.
bulletPrepare a written annual report.
 

Skills needed: previous training as a librarian, if possible.
