Denominational Connections Committee Chair Job Description 

The Denominational Connections Committee serves as the liaison between the larger denomination of the Joseph Priestly District and the BuxMont Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, passing along information and connecting people/groups with resources as needed. The committee keeps the congregation informed about denominational issues and informs members of the congregation about events of interest to them. It also facilitates congregational participation in voting and/or voicing our opinions on denominational issues. Committee members attend selected denominational events. The Chair is approved by the Board for a three year term.

 

The Denominational Connections Chair will:

bulletAttend and/or invite others to attend the Joseph Priestly District Annual Meeting and Spring Conference as BuxMont delegates.
bulletCoordinate the process for delegate applications to General Assembly.
bulletAttend Program Council meetings.
bulletDisseminate Joseph Priestly District and UUA information, through e-mails, the Liberal Voice, the Order of Service and the Denominational Connections bulletin board.
bulletPrepare and submit annual budget to Treasurer (include the UUA Annual Fund, JPD dues, Murray Grove membership, General Assembly registration, Conference registration).
bulletPrepare and submit JPD directory questionnaire by July 15th
bulletCommunicate to Peace and Justice the Study/Action plans proposed at General Assembly for their consideration.
bulletDetermine and submit the Action Study topics as proposed by BuxMont (in conjunction with the Peace and Justice Committee) for General Assembly.
bulletPrepare and submit a written annual budget and report as requested.
bulletMaintain a binder with minutes and a monthly record of duties/activities.
