Communications/Publicity Chair Job Description 

The Communications Committee is responsible for the internal and external communications for BuxMont Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.  They will disseminate the monthly newsletter (the Liberal Voice), maintain the website and send messages to members and active friends via e-mail as submitted to them.  The Chair is proposed by the Nominating Committee to the Board of Trustees for approval, and serves for a period of three years. 

The Communications Chair will: 

bulletMaintain a working relationship with the Board of Trustees, Fellowship Council, and staff.
bulletRecruit committee members and preside at meetings of the Communications Committee.
bulletCoordinate with the Program Committee to advertise and obtain media coverage for events and activities of interest to the greater community.  This consists of the entire geographical area from which the Fellowship draws its congregants, including, but not limited to Bucks and Montgomery Counties and Northeast Philadelphia.
bulletDevelop a network of publicity contacts which will assure advertising and publicizing events in the local media including newspapers, radio, and community websites.
bulletAttend Fellowship Program Council meetings or send a designated representative.
bulletAct as a resource and consultant to the Minister, the Board of Trustees and Program Fellowship Committee regarding public relations and publicity.
bulletProvide leadership to maximize exposure for planned events and activities.
bulletProvide a written annual report and budget as requested.
