Worship Associates Program
BuxMont Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
The mission of the Worship Associates Program is to contribute to the life of the congregation as co-creators and supporters of worship. Worship Associates support our Unitarian Universalist tradition of freedom of the pulpit and the pew.
The Worship Associates program at BuxMont Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is a reflection of our congregation’s commitment to shared ministry and is part of the overall Sunday Services program. It serves to continue the tradition of a lay voice in Sunday worship and to maintain high quality, spiritually meaningful services throughout the year.
The role of the Associate includes working with the minister on minister-led Sundays, providing support and assistance, as needed. This generally means taking part in leading a Sunday morning service but may sometimes involve help in creating services or selecting readings.
Worship Associates also work with the Sunday Services Committee in helping to provide assistance and support for lay leaders and guest speakers on non-minister Sundays, taking part in those Services as needed.
Worship Associates recognize the importance of personal learning and sharing of experiences in fulfilling this mission.
