Many of us have been shocked by the brutal attack on two gay men in Philadelphia earlier this month, and the recent news that the three thus far charged in the crime were all from central Bucks County. This occurs in the wake of two suicides in the local lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community over the past month. I hope you will join us, along with other members of the larger community at a special Love Over Hate rally to be held in Doylestown, this coming Wednesday, October 1 at 5pm at the County Courthouse. Several speakers are planned, and BuxMont will be helping to lead singing. The rally is planned as a positive event, focusing on love, hope, and healing, and urging our legislatures to enact hate crimes legislation that protects the lgbtq community. We will host a community forum at BuxMont two weeks following the rally on Thursday, October 16 at 7pm. I hope you will mark your calendars for both of these important events, invite friends, and attend if you can. Together, we can help lead our community in standing on the side of love.
