On October 22, 2013, Karen, Peggy and Susie visited the Foulkeways Tuesday Flower Arrangers. These dedicated and efficient ladies, under the leadership of Jean C., create 14-16 fresh flower arrangements each week. They and their predecessors have faithfully carried out this creative task for the past 50 years! We invited ourselves (and thank them for their gracious welcome) so that we could see how they manage to keep up the pace and their standards week in and week out. Susie also visited the comparable Friday morning group, which re-does or spruces up all of the arrangements from earlier in the week. Especially noteworthy on Friday were stunning ikebana-type arrangements created by several Foulkeways ladies who grew up in Japan.
Keep tuned for another announcement soon explaining why we are so interested in Efficiency, Volume, and Beauty. (If all goes as planned, we will have a special Public Ministry Outreach starting soon.)
We brought with us flowers from BuxMont’s Celebration Garden, parking lot beds, and Detention Basin Wild Garden as well as some additional donations from Ruth’s and Susie’s homes. The Foulkeways ladies seemed quite pleased to receive these gifts to enhance their arrangements as new materials added variety to wholesaler purchases. See photos below.
